Handmade wood hot pad:
The Handmade wood hot pad is made of hard beautiful hardwood! We use several different hardwood to make these unique. These are handmade one by one in Michigan, no mass production! We use a mix of several different types of hardwood including maple, cherry, ash, beech, and birch. None are the same which makes them unique and different than something mass produced. Each one measures about 6″ x 6″. Make the hot pad into a personalized gift by adding a little engraving in the corner or a personalized message on the back! Each engraving is about 1.75″ x 1.75″.
Finally add in the note section on the order form what you would like engraved on the cutting board. Please include which side you want it engraved on. If you want us to engrave a file/fun message, email your png file to info@ppchandmade.com. Or email us if you have any questions regarding what you would like engraved.
Its recommended that you do not cut raw meat on your these. Wood has open pores which can trap bacteria and cause illness.
CARE INSTRUCTIONS: Do NOT submerge the hot pad in water or dishwasher. If you do the wood can warp. Clean the hot pad by wiping it down with a wet rag. Let the hot pad air dry till the wood is completely dry. When its completely dry, wipe a light coat of mineral oil (food grade cutting board oil) on all sides, and then let the oil soak into the wood for 24 hours before using it. Any access oil can be wiped off if needed. By doing these simple steps, the hot pad will last for years. Detailed care instructions are included with each hot pad.
