Below is a lost of the hardwood types that we use:
We like to offer a mix of different hardwood types for our wholesale soap dishes. Our customers like different wood and their customers like going through their “basket with soap dishes” to find the color they like. Kind of like a treasury hunt for the customer.
Poplar Hardwood
Poplar wood is a hardwood type that varies in color from a lighter color to darker green. It is a light weight hardwood. Poplar wood also comes in a rainbow color which is really rare. The rainbow colors range from purple, blue, to darker grey and other colors. There are many spices of Poplar wood in the United States and they all look a little different.

Beech Hardwood
American Beech s typically a pale cream color, sometimes with a pink or brown hue. Beech is the most widely used wood throughout history. There are 2 types of beech, European and American. We use the American. The European beech is a little more reddish and darker.

Hard Maple Hardwood
Hard maple is another hardwood that is lighter in color. It does not have much of a grain as ash but it does have some. Sometimes we can find birds eye maple with is really cool looking with little swirling “eye” (circles) all over the wood.

Ash Hardwood
Ash wood has many different colors from an almost white to a darker brown. Ash wood has a lot of grain which makes it really unique and cool looking. The grain really stands out when we apply mineral to the soap dish.

American Cherry Hardwood
Cherry wood is a beautiful darker reddish to pinkish brown to medium reddish brown and some even have a pale yellowish in color. We have seen cherry boards have both reddish and yellowish color, really pretty. The cherry wood does really well for engraving as well.

Birch Hardwood
Birch wood is yellowish to the color. They call it yellow birch. Birch can have some grain and it looks really nice. Its a heavier hardwood.
